Fujiwara no Nakafumi (藤原仲文)
FUJIWARA no Nakafumi (923 to 992) was a kajin (waka poet) in the mid-Heian period. He was from the Ceremonial House of the Fujiwara clan and his father was FUJIWARA no Kimikatu. He was one of the 36 Immortal Poets.
He became a Kurodo (secretary) to the Imperial Prince Norihira (later Emperor Reizei) who was then Crown Prince. He then served as officer in charge of regional administration such as Kaga no kuni no kami, Iga no kuni no kami (governer of Kaga and Iga Province) andUeno no kuni no suke (officer in charge of regional administration in Ueno), and in 977, he got promoted to Shogoinoge (Senior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade). He became a close retainer of the Emperor Reizei and also served FUJIWARA no Yoritada and FUJIWARA no Michikane.
He interacted with kajin (waka poets) such as KIYOHARA no Motosuke and ONAKATOMI no Yoshinobu.
His waka poems were selected for Chokusen wakashu (Imperial anthologies of Japanese poetry) after 'Shui Wakashu' (the third imperial anthology) was compiled, and he privately compiled 'the Nakafumi collection.'
