Miizumi Jozan (美泉定山)

Jozan MIIZUMI (1805-November 4, 1877) was a priest born in Bizen Province (present-day Okayama Prefecture).

He was born as the second son of the chief priest at famous Myoon-ji Temple in Bizen Province in 1805. At the age of 48, he moved to Hokkaido. In 1866 when he was 66 years old, Jozan MIIZUMI found a hot spring source at Jozankei Onsen, present-day in Minami Ward, Sapporo City and opened Toji ba (therapeutic bath) there.
