Yoshida Kaneharu (吉田兼治)

Kaneharu YOSHIDA (1565 – 1616) was the 10th head of the Yoshida family (lineage can be traced to the hanke, Urabe clan) who were tosho-ke (the hereditary lineage of Court nobles occupying relatively high ranks).

Career
He was Saemon no kami (captain of the Left Division of Outer Palace Guards) Kanemi YOSHIDA's son and his wife was the daughter of Yusai HOSOKAWA.

His biological children include Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Kaneyori HAGIWARA (Kanemi YOSHIDA's adopted child, founder of tosho-ke(hanke) Hagiwara family), Uemon no suke (Assistant Captain of the Right Division of Outer Palace Guards) Kanehide YOSHIDA, the wife of Gon Dainagon (provisional chief councilor of state) Saneaki ANO, and the wife of shonagon (lesser councilor of state) Shusuke FUNAHASHI.

In 1610, he inherited the position as head of Yoshida shinto (Yoshida Jinja Shrine) and became Yoshida Shinto.

In 1613, he taught Shinto to the retired Emperor Goyozei.

He became Shoshiinoge (Senior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) Chamberlain, Sahyoe no suke (Assistant Captain of the Left Division of Middle Palace Guards) and was awarded Junii (Junior Second Rank).
