Ogimachisanjo Sanemochi (正親町三条実望)
Sanemochi OGIMACHISANJO (1463 - April 12, 1530) was a Kugyo (top court official) during the Muromachi period. He was a retainer of the Imperial Court serving two generations: Emperor Gotsuchimikado (103rd) and Emperor Gokashiwabara (104th), and his highest official court rank was Shonii (Senior Second Rank) Naidaijin (Minister of the Interior). His father was Naidaijin Kinharu OGIMACHISANJO. His older brother was Sangi (councilor) Saneoki OGIMACHISANJO. Naidaijin Kine OGIMACHISANJO was his child. He had a daughter who became Sanenobu SAIONJI's wife. His original name was Sanesube. His go (pen name) was Gojikoin.
He was ennobled in 1479. After that, he was successively promoted to Konoefu (to the Headquarters of the Inner Palace Guards), Konoefu, and Kurodo no to (Head Chamberlain), and finally became Sangi in 1491 to rank with Kugyo. He became Gon Chunagon (a provisional vice-councilor of state) and then Gon Dainagon (a provisional chief councilor of state) in 1507. Furthermore, he was assigned to Naidaijin in 1515, but resigned a short time later. He became a priest at the age of 61 in 1523. His honorable name was Joku.
